Episode 3: The Hottest Flame.

Nuzlocke: A Leaf Green Run

Nick: Well. Back to Veridian. Why don't we pay a visit to the Pokemart, and to that devil's spawn of a cashier.
Erica: Fuck him. Imma burn down his shop.
Nick: You have wonderful sarcasm, but you only know ember...
Erica: The ember's the hottest part of the fire. Girl Power byatcha.
Nick: After you...

As our heroes enter the shop, the clerk meets eyes with Nick, and gives him a stare of death and loathing. Their eyes locked in a dual, Nick approaches the counter, while Erica stands guard in front of the door, preventing anyone from getting in, or out. As Nick puts his fists down onto the counter, the Clerk tosses a poke ball up and down, up and down.

Clerk: Can I help you?
Nick: Yes, Give me three potions and pokeballs.
Clerk: Sorry, rules haven't changed, still don't sell to nooby bitches.
Nick: Then who do you sell to?
Clerk: People with potential, with a burning fire inside of them, like that kid Kene.

Nicks face slowly contorts from an expression of anger to a mask of amusement.

Nick: It's funny that you believe that.
Clerk: Whys that?
Nick: Cause I have one thing that truly does have a fire inside them.
Clerk: What? Your whimp-ass mouse?

In a flurry of motion Nick grabs the Clerk by the collar and splays his body across the counter. The
Clerk's smirk has transformed to a open jaw of fear and wonder.

Nick: Don't you fucking talk about Erica that way you bastard!

By this time all the costumers in the shop have gathered to watch this startling ordeal. Nick slowly reaches over the counter, picks out a few potions and pokeballs, and throws the cost of them in paper bills on the floor in front of him. Nick releases the clerk, and turns to Erica who is now standing next to him.

Nick: That should be enough kindling.

Nick turns and shouts to the crowd gathered.

Nick: If you want to live, get out!

Everyone in the store looks for a second at the door and Erica, then turns back around, and continues their shopping. The clerk slowly slides back off the counter, and picks up the money, slowly and calmly putting it away in the register. Nick looks around with outrage.

Nick: Why aren't you running! Do you all want to die?!?!
Erica: Nick...
Clerk: (Laughs) You think that you and your charmander can conquer the world in a heartbeat, but what you don't realize is you're at the bottom of the food chain.

The Clerk suddenly points up to the TV in the northwest corner of the shop. Nick's eyes follow, and land on the screen. A tall, handsome, young man surrounded in women is standing in a grand room with a mighty pokemon by his side. His wears fine robes, and everything about him exudes power.

Clerk: See that man? That's Lance. The leader of the elite four. He is power. He could burn this shop down if he wished. But not you. For you are not him. You are a lowly trainer from
Pallet town without a badge to his name, who thinks just because yesterday he was offered the chance to raise a pokemon, he is now better than everyone around him. And he needs to know that he is nothing, and he will never be anything, because he does not know how to exist in a world where things are not handed to him on a silver platter by a old pokemon professor. Do you even know who I am? Have you even asked me my name before you try to destroy my life? You need to learn how to act, if you want to live in this world of pokemon. But, I know you love that pokemon, and I know you and her want to make it to the top. So I'm signing you up for the Kanto League, because I am impressed as well as disgusted how much you resemble me when I was first beginning to realize my dream. I have a desire, a mission too...

Nick stares in wonder as this lowly clerk grew into a menacing beast, and once again into a man who...wanted to help him. Flustered, Nick asks:

Nick: Whats...your name?

As the clerk hands Nick his trainer card, paving a new path for him, that leads straight up victory road, he answered with a single word, and a look over a turned shoulder.

Clerk: Giovanni.
